The holy abode of the legendary figure, Saythya Sai Baba, Puttaparthi is a stunning edifice of contemporary Indian Religion. A tiny locale in the Indian Sate of Andhra Pradesh, Puttaparthi has gained global acclamation as a centre of religious excellence. This remote village on the banks of the Chitravathi River is bounded by the scorched and wobbly hills. Though this tiny village does not offer any of the splendorous vistas of nature, it has acclaimed as a much desired tourist place of religious significance after the establishment of Prasanthi Nilayam, in 1950. In fact, the most remarkable attraction in this sleepy village is the Ashram complex that houses a multitude of alluring attractions. It makes every visitor astonished that in this isolated village there is everything that a metro can provide. Puttaparthi was formerly known as Gollapalli, which means the home of cowherds. The history of Puttaparthi revolves round Sai Baba. In fact for the outside world Puttaparthi means Sai Baba himself. It is the presence of this saintly man makes this small hamlet to a thriving and vibrant city with most modern amenities. This village now houses all the infrastructure of a sophisticated town such as Airport, Railway Station, Super Specialty Hospital and an array of educational institutions.

Puttaparthi Museum
Museum is the most visited part in ashram. It is perched on nearby hillock. It displays models of temples in India. Model of Golden temple, Amsitsar is eye-fetching feature. The life history of Prophet Sri Sathya Sai baba is described by lively paintings. Collections of religious books and vedic quotes are the other prominent features of this museum.

Chitravathi River
It is a place of immense scenic beauty and considered holy. The prophet used to bathe here. It is lovingly called as 'New Gange' by devotees. It was the main source of sand for the entire construction of this town. The clothes of Sri Sathya Sai Baba were washed only by this river water. Aprt from religious significance, a nice place to chill out.

Planetarium
Sri Sathya Sai Space theater is spacious indeed, can accommodate more than 200 people. It uses Spitz Space systems-512 to stimulate night sky. It teaches public about the astronomy wonders. It is used as a classroom to practically teach the basic concepts of mathematics, physics and astronomy to students of Sri Sathya Sai educational institution. The first university in the country which employed planetarium as learning material.

Prasanthi Mandir
It is the main temple in ashram Prasanthi Nilayam. It is a two-storey granite building ornately decorated. Inside the temple there is a huge marble idol of Sri Sathya Sai Baba on a silver throne and an empty golden throne dedicated to Prophet Sri Sathya Sai Baba. One can feel positive vibration inside the meditation hall and can merge into deep silence. It is the main prayer hall used for Bhajans and congregations.
